Hi everyone, sorry about the delay in getting on here, it's been a busy few weeks in room 9 and at Allenton.
ATHLETICS
We have had our Athletics sports day at school, everyone competed so well giving their best and exceeding their expectations. We are all so proud. All our hard work at practices has paid off
We had some place getters in our class,
Mele- 2nd shotput, 3rd discus
Sylvie- 3rd long sprint and short sprint
Toby- 1st long sprint, short sprint, shotput and discus
Hunter- 3rd long distance
Jacob- 3rd long distance and short sprint
Savena 2nd shotput, 3rd discus
AMAZING ALL OF YOU.
Unfortunately not all place getters could represent us at Counties as for most events you have to be 8years or older, but we were pretty excited that Toby, Jacob and Sylvie got to go and sprint against the rest of mid Canterburies fastest. Plus TOBY won his heats and then the finals of his long and short sprint!! WOW Way to go Toby and well done everyone.
LIFE EDUCATION
We have had a visit from our friend Harold and his friend Jane. We learned all about the systems in our body and what they do and how we can keep them healthy. It was pretty cool and we will bring home the books soon to share with our families.
We have also had a visit to the A and P Show and that was a heap of fun.
Our multiculural choir performed for the Talanoa, which had our gorgeous Mele, Savena and Aliyah plus of course the handsome Feleti. they were amazing because we got to see them on video. We were very impressed.
We had the school Halloween themed disco and lots of us got to go along. The hall looked amazing, THANKS PTA,. Faith made us some special Halloween treats that were very cool and delicious. Thanks Faith. Faith won best dressed at the Halloween disco and it was hard to recognise her.
Savena and Jacob are now in the next step of the KapaHaka group - The PERFORMANCE GROUP, well done both of you. They will be performing on the 17th at the Hakatere Festival. good luck and have fun.
We are now learning all about keeping ourselves safe from all sorts of dangers, as we are all nearly a year older than when we started in Room 9 we are very responsible and great self managers plus aware of dangers and we are learning what to do in difficult situations.
