We have begun or time topic for Maths, this week we looked at minutes and how long a minute was.
As part of this we looked at different timers and things you could do for a minute. We made minute timers using a bottle, sand and a cup. We had to work out how to make the timer. there were a few problems to solve along the way - the size of the hole in the lid, the size and wetness of the sand, how could we check it was a minute and make sure the correct amount of sand was in the timer ??? This took a bit of testing.
We worked in teams to solve these problems then made a google doc to explain what we had done. Here are some photos of us hard at work.
